01 · OVERVIEW
Understanding the discipline
Gymnastics physical preparation may involve strength, flexibility, coordination, endurance and body awareness. Training should be suitable for the participant and supported by qualified professionals. Safe programmes also consider recovery, appropriate equipment and injury prevention.
Educational information only. Gymnastics skills, apparatus use, acrobatics, aerial movements and advanced physical exercises must be learned progressively with qualified coaching, suitable equipment and appropriate safety arrangements.
04 · RESPONSIBLE PARTICIPATION
Safety and good practice
Use properly maintained gymnastics equipment and suitable landing surfaces. Follow qualified instructors' guidance, respect individual ability and progress gradually. Do not attempt advanced skills, flips, vaults, trampoline routines or unsupported partner lifts from online instructions alone. Stop training when injured or unwell and seek appropriate professional advice.
